Do we want quantity or quality? Can we have both? Let's talk about it today.
I’m Amanda with Socially Flourish and today, I want to discuss with you the concept of quantity versus quality because it's important depending on what you're talking about.
When it comes to content, you want quantity, because you need to get out there as much as you can. And you get better as you go, so if you're playing it safe and keeping things to yourself and trying to put out Perfect Production quality stuff, you're not going to do as well as someone who is like here's something and here’s something. They're getting it out there and going more and more, and that really can help their brand grow quickly. Now you do still want to work towards quality though even if you throw a whole bunch of stuff out there that's just quantity driven it's not going to necessarily capture your audience. So you're throwing things out there to see who's looking and while it's free, that’s great, but in the end you're going to want to start moving towards quality. That's the goal.
Now when it comes to leads, it's the opposite. You want to work towards quality leads not quantity. Here's a story I have about that. One time I worked for a company and they were desperate to get leads. So I watched the owner write a check for thousands of dollars for gentleman who came in and promised him that he could get him a ton of leads. Well the leads came in and they were from all over the world. Some places we absolutely could not serve them. There was no way for us to fulfill orders to those places. There was no way for us to help. So he did what he promised, but it wasn't our target audience and it wasn't what we needed, and therefore that money was wasted! So please, make sure that when it comes to leads you're looking for Quality leads.
There's a reason why when you go through the onboarding process with Socially Flourish we walk you through who's your target audience and we ask you questions about how you can
get those people and why that's important. It’s also important for when we're targeting for ads so that you're not wasting your money throwing it out there to everybody under the sun. We want to make sure that you are getting the leads that are valuable to you.
So for example, I I know of someone who had a form in front of getting to see a piece of property for a rental and they (the customer) couldn’t go to see the property until they filled out the form. Well you can get everybody under the sun to fill in the form just so that they can go and look at the property, but are those the leads that you want? Sure, you're going to get a lot of leads, but most of those people are just curiosity driven they're not really your target audience. And you will see as your calendar fills up with things that are just nonsense, that's not going to be helpful to you or your business. It’s going to waste money and as you know time is money. So if you're wasting time trying to answer all these leads or send things to all these leads, who are not even ever going to buy into what you have, that's just wasting time.
So what you want to do that in those cases, is make sure that you are sending targeted ads to the audience you want. You're getting people to come to your site, look through your site, and then make a choice of, “Yes, I'm actually interested in this.” Yes, there will be less leads, but they will be higher quality leads. All right.
So in the end, let's talk about this once again. When it comes to content we want to push quantity over quality, but when it comes to leads we want to put quality over quantity.
